Getting started

  1. Install Banner Bouncer from the App Store and open the app.
  2. Tap Setup in Safari and follow the guide: enable Banner Bouncer in Settings > Safari > Extensions, then set All Websites to Allow.
  3. Browse as usual. Banner Bouncer refuses consent in the background — there is nothing else to do.

The app's home screen shows whether blocking is active and how many refusals have happened. Tap the count to see the sites.

Common questions

A banner still appeared on a site. Why?

Banner Bouncer works from built-in rules: it recognizes major consent systems and common banner designs. A site with a fully custom banner may not be recognized yet. Coverage improves with app updates — and the sites it does handle are handled automatically, every time.

The app says a refusal happened on a site, but I never saw a banner there. Is that a mistake?

Usually not. Many sites load a consent system that runs quietly in the background, or only shows a banner in certain regions. Banner Bouncer answers those systems with "no" whether or not a banner was displayed — the refusal is real, the banner just never reached you.

What is the count in the app?

It is the total number of consent refusals since you installed the app. The list under it ("Bounced on") is a recent history: the last 20 sites, kept for 7 days. The count and the history are separate — clearing the history does not reset the count.

How do I remove a site from the history, or clear it?

In the app, swipe a row in the "Bounced on" list, or use Clear All. In the extension popup, tap the count, then the × next to a site, or Clear all. A site comes back to the list if a banner is refused there again.

A site isn't working properly. What can I do?

Open the extension popup while you're on the site and pause Banner Bouncer for that site. Some sites tie features to consent choices; pausing restores their default behavior. You can also turn the extension off entirely in the popup or in Settings > Safari > Extensions.

Does Banner Bouncer work outside Safari, or on a Mac?

Banner Bouncer is built for Safari on iPhone. It does not run in other browsers.

Does it cost anything? Do I need an account?

No and no. Banner Bouncer is free, has no accounts, and collects no data — see the privacy policy.
